Ledger Launches Bitcoin Loans, Letting Holders Borrow Without Selling

Ledger launched Crypto Loan, a self-custodial lending feature within its wallet app that lets eligible users pledge wrapped Bitcoin (cbBTC or wBTC) as collateral to borrow USDC or USDT stablecoins without selling their assets. The platform is powered by Morpho via Yield.xyz, the same provider Coinbase uses for its own Bitcoin-backed loans. Ledger, which secures nearly 30% of all Bitcoin held by retail investors, is moving deeper into financial services, competing with Coinbase and JPMorgan in the Bitcoin lending space. Crypto Loan is rolling out to eligible users immediately.
