In September, Kalshi’s 15-minute gold markets generated 542 million contracts and an estimated $5 million in fees, surpassing Ether which recorded 318 million contracts and $2.6 million. Bitcoin remained the dominant market with $60.4 million in estimated fees. Short-duration markets now account for 80% of Kalshi’s non-sport fees, and despite representing only 13% of trading volume, they generate 20% of total fees. The 15-minute gold markets launched in August, while similar Bitcoin markets launched in December and became the biggest market series outside parlays by July.
