The crypto industry has spent at least $206 million on the 2026 US midterm elections as of October 2026, already exceeding total spending for the entire 2024 cycle. Fairshake, the sector’s leading super PAC, announced support for 32 House candidates, including 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats who backed the CLARITY Act. The CLARITY Act, which aims to establish a federal framework for digital asset markets, passed the House in 2025 but has stalled in the Senate since September 2026. The crypto industry has become the top corporate political donor this cycle, accounting for more than one-third of tracked corporate political contributions as of July 2026. This leading position carries reputational risks, illustrated by a nearly $30 million campaign targeting Senator Sherrod Brown.
