Ripple has joined a consortium of investors backing cryptocurrency exchange OKX, alongside Circle, QRT, and SC Ventures, the venture capital arm of Standard Chartered. OKX is valued at $25 billion pre-money. This funding round follows a previous round led by Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, which invested $200 million in March at the same valuation. OKX CEO Star Xu stated that the company was not seeking new investors due to a shortage of funds, but wanted strategic partners in stablecoins, payments, institutional markets, and financial infrastructure. OKX aims to evolve beyond a cryptocurrency exchange to become a fintech platform linking crypto markets to traditional finance.
