Chevron CFO Eimear Bonner will become president of its oil, products and gas division starting January 1st, transitioning from CFO to an operational role at the heart of the company’s business. Jeff Gustavson, currently president of new energies, will succeed her as CFO. Bonner joined Chevron in 1998 as an offshore petroleum engineer in the United Kingdom and rose through engineering, operating, and strategy positions, including becoming the company’s first female chief technology officer in 2021, before moving to CFO three years later. Her career progression positions her as a strong candidate for potential CEO succession, though Chevron has not confirmed this. In Q2, the company reported $12.1 billion in earnings and a 21% return on capital employed.
