Zcash NU7 Upgrade: ZEC Targets 25-Second Blocks In Testnet

Share

Zcash’s NU7 upgrade has been activated on the public testnet at block 4,465,026, reducing the target block interval from 75 to 25 seconds. This change would cut confirmation time with a three-confirmation policy from 225 to 75 seconds. The upgrade also redirects 60% of transaction fees to a future-reward reserve, reduces per-block rewards, and disables Sprout transactions. ZEC trades at approximately $1,300, down 2.5% over 24 hours but up over 30% over one month. Mainnet deployment is targeted for November 5, pending test results expected on October 20.
