The SEC approved a 3x Ethereum ETF – Here’s what it means

On October 2, the SEC approved Cboe BZX’s proposal for a new Volatility Shares 3x Ether ETF alongside five similar products. This futures-based leveraged product can amplify ETH price movements by up to three times, but trading cannot occur until the S-1 registration becomes effective. Despite the approval, ETH ETF outflows continued for four consecutive days, removing $155 million after September’s inflow streak. ETF assets also dropped by $460 million, from $17.92 billion to $17.46 billion. Despite the massive outflows, ETH holds above $2,700, showing resilient underlying demand.
