Tencent has signed a five-year agreement with Oracle to lease 100,000 AI chips hosted in Oracle’s Asia data centers, gaining access to compute infrastructure without building its own data centers. Oracle delivered more than 300,000 GPUs to AI cloud customers since the prior quarter, with GPU utilization reaching 97.9% in Q1 FY27. Oracle disclosed uncommenced data-center and cloud lease commitments of approximately $248 billion to $288 billion over 15 to 19-year terms. Tencent joins ByteDance among Oracle’s largest GPU customers in the Asia-Pacific region, where the Chinese tech giant has established AI hubs in Singapore and the surrounding area.
