OpenAI announced over 20 launches at DevDay 2026, including Dots, always-on AI agents powered by GPT-6 Astra running on their own cloud computers, available for Pro and Business Premium users in eligible markets. The new GPT-6.1 Sol model nearly matches Astra on coding and computer use at one-fifth of the price, while the Ultrafast tier enables generation up to 8x faster in Codex. One day before the event, OpenAI pulled GPT-6.1 Astra, its next flagship, for failing to meet safety standards, following multiple incidents involving its agents over the summer. The company also launched ChatGPT Space, a shared workspace for humans and agents, Codex Security Cloud, and Private Intelligence for companies unable to share their sensitive data.
