Charles Hoskinson, the developer behind Cardano, claims that the Midnight network will surpass Zcash thanks to its privacy features including selective disclosure, private agents, and a DeFi kernel compatible with major blockchains. Midnight’s NIGHT token is currently trading around $0.027, up over 36% in 30 days, but remains approximately 77.5% below its record high of $0.12 reached in December 2025. Zcash is trading around $1,600, gaining 93% over one month and rising 2,660% compared to its level from one year ago, while remaining 51% below its all-time high of $3,191. NIGHT fell more than 43% on July 21 to a low near $0.016 after 290 million tokens were dumped on the market. Trading volume for NIGHT stands at approximately $14 million, compared to nearly $1 billion for ZEC.
