Polygon will increase POL staking rewards to approximately 7.7% annualized starting October 1, up from the current baseline of about 3%. This measure, driven by governance proposal PIP-92, will redistribute 27.33 million POL from accumulated network fees without minting new tokens. The reward per checkpoint will jump 2.6 times, from 25,213 to 64,500 POL. With approximately 3.45 billion POL currently staked, this redistribution represents a significant increase in yields for stakers. Polygon also executed a burn of roughly 100 million POL on September 24, reducing the total token supply by about 1%.
