Kalshi filed a proposal with the SEC and CFTC to offer perpetual futures tied to individual US stocks. These contracts would have no preset expiration date and would use periodic funding payments between long and short positions to keep their prices aligned with the underlying stocks. The company stated that the contracts would be treated as security futures products and cleared through its CFTC-registered clearinghouse, Kalshi Klear. Coinbase submitted a similar proposal on the same day, while Payward, the parent company of Kraken, also filed through Bitnomial Exchange to offer these products on 10 equities, including Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Amazon. These filings come after the CLARITY Act failed to advance in the Senate on September 15, falling short of the 60 votes needed to proceed.
