Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has criticized the Wall Street Journal, accusing the publication of being hostile toward the CLARITY Act cryptocurrency legislation. Following the Senate’s rejection of the bill, Armstrong raised concerns that the Journal is preparing a story blaming him for the legislation’s failure. He clarified that while he initially opposed an earlier version of the bill due to issues with DeFi, tokenization, CFTC authority, and stablecoin rewards, Coinbase worked with other stakeholders to improve the legislation. According to Armstrong, the final version of the bill addressed the four concerns he had raised, making it worthy of Senate passage.
