Swedish investment giant EQT Infrastructure is putting up to $2 billion behind 1 GW of distributed battery capacity across the United States. The initiative, led by portfolio company Madison Energy Infrastructure, targets industrial and commercial sites across 13 states, primarily in PJM Interconnection territory. These 4-hour duration batteries will ease grid bottlenecks and enable faster data center grid connections. The 1 GW target is set for completion by 2028, enough to power approximately 750,000 homes.
