Bitcoin faces an eight-year rates test as the BOE unwinds £368 billion

The Bank of England has committed to unwind £368 billion of QE-era gilts by September 2034, combining £20 billion in annual sales with maturing bonds for an average £46 billion yearly runoff. All nine MPC members backed the quantitative tightening plan while Bank Rate remained at 3.75%, with three members preferring a rise to 4%. Gilt yields fell more than 7 basis points for the 10-year and nearly 10 basis points for the 30-year on Thursday. Bitcoin traded around $78,000, up 6.20% over the past 24 hours.
