Oklo plans to deploy first Aurora microreactors by 2028

Nuclear startup Oklo Inc. plans to bring its first Aurora microreactors online at Idaho National Laboratory by 2028, with each unit generating between 15 and 75 MWe. The company has secured approximately 14 GW of projects with Switch and Meta, including a 1.2 GW campus in Ohio potentially coming online by 2030. The US Department of Energy approved Oklo’s preliminary safety analysis in June 2026, clearing a major regulatory hurdle. Oklo, listed on the NYSE under ticker OKLO, announced a $1 billion at-the-market equity program in September 2026 while generating no revenue and not expecting any before 2028. The Switch and Meta agreements remain non-binding, making the 14 GW order book a measure of customer interest rather than a revenue forecast.
