Snap tries to bring AR glasses to enterprise market, partnering with Nvidia, AWS and Salesforce

Snap announced a partnership with Nvidia, Amazon Web Services and Salesforce to commercialize its Specs augmented reality glasses for enterprise customers. These glasses, priced at $2,195 with a $200 refundable deposit, were initially targeted at consumers. CEO Evan Spiegel is focusing on use cases like field technician assistance to position the device as a computer rather than smart glasses for taking photos. The company hopes that collaboration with Nvidia, which has an open-source XR AI platform, will help it penetrate the enterprise market where Microsoft HoloLens and Meta Quest failed due to device bulkiness. Snap is also launching Specs Intelligence, an artificial intelligence service running on AR glasses, iPhones and Mac computers, with a free tier and multiple pricing levels based on usage.
