The House Ways and Means Committee approved the Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act, a bill aimed at overhauling cryptocurrency taxation. The proposal covers transaction fees, stablecoins, mining, staking and lending. Mining and staking rewards would be classified as ordinary income, with tax relief for qualifying network or transaction fees of 10 dollars or less beginning in 2028. The bill still requires approval from both chambers of Congress in identical form before reaching the president.
