Volkswagen topped the Fortune 500 Europe list for the third consecutive year, with revenue rising 3.4% to over $363 billion. The combined revenues of the 500 largest European companies reached a record high of $15.5 trillion, while profits grew 3% to just over $1 trillion. The financial sector dominates the ranking with 105 companies representing 24% of total revenue, 40% of profits, and 14% of the workforce. HSBC is the most profitable company on the list with $22 billion in profits for 2025. BP remains the only top-10 company led by a woman CEO, Meg O’Neill.
