Bitcoin stalls – STHs dump BTC at a loss following failed Senate crypto bill

The CLARITY Act was blocked in the US Senate on September 15th, pushing regulatory clarity on cryptocurrencies back to 2027. Democrats withheld support over concerns regarding conflicts of interest surrounding President Trump and his family. Short-term Bitcoin holders responded by selling aggressively: 23.2k BTC were moved to exchanges at a loss within 24 hours, with the 30-day exchange net taker volume falling to -87.8k BTC. Bitcoin has dropped below $76,000 and failed three times since September 9th to break through the $79k-$80k resistance zone.
