Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest bank, is awaiting regulatory approval to launch digital asset custody solutions for institutional clients and corporations in Europe. The bank plans to initially support Bitcoin, Ether and several stablecoins including USDC, EURC and EURAU, before expanding into tokenized financial instruments. Deutsche Bank, classified as a Global Systemically Important Bank by the Financial Stability Board, expects to receive its license in October under the EU’s MiCA framework. This initiative is part of a broader trend among German banks toward crypto services, with other institutions like Landesbank Baden-Württemberg and DZ Bank having also launched similar offerings.
