J.D. Power’s annual North America Airport Satisfaction Study, released Wednesday, shows a significant increase in overall traveler satisfaction despite near-record flying levels in the U.S. Passengers gave higher ratings partly due to newer gates and terminals opened in recent years at many airports, from New York’s John F. Kennedy International to Kansas City International and Pittsburgh International. This marks the third consecutive year of increasing satisfaction, with airports needing to invest billions of dollars to impress travelers according to Mike Taylor, managing director of travel, hospitality and retail at J.D. Power. The study is based on responses from more than 24,000 travelers.
