OpenAI is in talks with investors about a new funding round that would value the company at $1.2 trillion, according to the Financial Times. This funding round would delay the IPO some had anticipated. Sam Altman told Fortune that right now would be an ill-advised moment to go public, given everything happening with safety. In March 2025, OpenAI had already raised $122 billion at a valuation of $852 billion.
