bdautomated published an analysis checking 75 widely quoted statistics about AI agents, finding that the figures disagree because they measure different things. According to McKinsey’s 2025 global survey, 62 percent of organizations are experimenting with AI agents, but no more than 10 percent have deployed one in any single business function. PwC found 79 percent of U.S. executives reporting adoption, while Capgemini identified only 14 percent after verifying what respondents meant by « agent. » The U.S. Census Bureau found 19.8 percent of businesses using AI as of May 2026. MIT Project NANDA’s preliminary finding that 95 percent of organizations get zero return measured profit-and-loss impact within roughly six months in a sample of 52 interviews, 153 conference survey responses and 300 public deployments.
