Arc, the EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain linked to Circle (USDC’s issuer), has designated MetaMask as its default wallet for user and developer onboarding. The partnership means MetaMask will come pre-configured to support the Arc network with native USDC display and built-in bridge and swap functionality. The Arc network, launching its mainnet on September 16, 2026, lets users pay transaction fees directly in USDC instead of a volatile native token, with average costs around $0.004 per transaction and sub-second finality. Day-one partners include Ledger, Fireblocks, and Binance Wallet, with anticipated protocol integrations involving Aave, Morpho, and Uniswap.
