Bitcoin Suffers On Renewed US-Iran Fighting

Bitcoin slid on Thursday as oil prices surged above $105 per barrel amid renewed Middle East tensions. The oldest and largest cryptocurrency was trading around $77,208, down more than 2% over 24 hours, after dipping as low as $76,748. Iran signaled it had no intention of backing down against U.S. forces, with both countries intensifying attacks in some of the heaviest fighting since the war began in February. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said inflation in the world’s largest economy had not come down enough, and traders are now pricing in an interest rate hike at next week’s meeting.
