Circle signed a deal to acquire Tazapay, adding $25 billion in annualized payment volume to its network, of which $15 billion uses stablecoins. The deal brings Circle local payment infrastructure across more than 100 markets, with over 60 banking and fintech partners and support for over 35 currencies. Tazapay’s annualized payment volume doubled in one year, from $10 billion in August 2025 to $25 billion, with over 60% of that volume already using stablecoins. Circle’s own payment network reached $23 billion in annualized transaction volume, and enrolled financial institutions grew by 29% to 175 partners. The deal, expected to close in 2027, will test whether Circle can translate this expanded infrastructure into broader USDC adoption.
