Qualcomm and Amazon have announced a multi-generational product partnership, extending a collaboration that began in 2014 with the Amazon Fire Phone. In January 2025, the two companies had already collaborated on AI-driven in-vehicle experiences, combining Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Cockpit Platform with Amazon’s AI services. This alliance is part of Qualcomm’s diversification strategy, which targets 40 billion dollars in revenue from non-handset chips by fiscal year 2029, with data center revenue exceeding 15 billion dollars. The competitive landscape is intensifying, with Amazon investing heavily in its own custom chip designs including Graviton, Trainium and Inferentia.
