Treasury yields tick higher as traders look ahead to more economic data releases

U.S. Treasury yields rose Monday, with the 10-year yield reaching 4.8063% and the 30-year yield climbing to 5.2708%. The increase in borrowing costs comes as markets reopened after the extended Labor Day weekend and investors await key economic data this week, including August producer price inflation data, forecast to rise 0.4%. Oil prices also surged, with Brent crude nearing $100 a barrel following Houthi militant strikes on Saudi energy facilities. The Federal Reserve’s rate-setting committee will meet September 15-16.
