Blockstream’s Liquid sidechain was paused after 3,998 BTC, worth approximately $320 million, was withdrawn from the federation wallet on Sunday. The funds were moved using the peg-out authorization key (PAK) of SideSwap, a federation member, but Blockstream says the key was not compromised. The recipient identified themselves as white hats onchain and left a message requesting contact. Bridge nodes have been disabled and L-BTC deposits and withdrawals on exchanges have been suspended. The wallet now holds 197.47 BTC, down from approximately 4,195 BTC before the incident.
