Bitcoin now accounts for approximately 1% of global money supply, with its market capitalization reaching 1.7% of a combined global money basket totaling $138 trillion, according to River. This basket combines the global fiat M2 money supply estimated at $112.9 trillion and gold’s market cap at $25.1 trillion. Businesses absorb roughly 1,755 BTC daily, nearly four times the rate of new mining supply at around 450 BTC per day. Only about 825,000 individuals globally hold at least one whole Bitcoin, representing approximately 0.01% of the world population, less than 1.5% of the 60 million millionaires worldwide. This milestone was reached just 16 years after Bitcoin’s creation.
