The upgrade is necessary to ensure compatibility and stable synchronization with the restored chain. The team identified malicious attack activity targeting the network on September 1, but has not disclosed the attack vector or published a forensic report. The organization claims user assets were not compromised, but has not confirmed full recovery across all third-party services including public RPC providers, exchanges, and wallets. Ontology will continue monitoring the network with its technical and security partners.
