Coinbase has added support for two new wrapped assets, cbZEC and cbHYPE, now live on its Layer 2 solution Base. These ERC-20 tokens are backed 1:1 by the underlying assets held in custody by Coinbase, enabling holders to use them across various DeFi applications. The exchange has warned about potential fraudulent actors impersonating these assets and released the official Base contract addresses. This expansion joins a growing roster of wrapped assets supported by Coinbase, including cbBTC, cbETH, cbXRP, cbDOGE, cbADA, cbLTC and cbMEGA.
