Fnatic, one of Europe’s most storied League of Legends organizations, missed Worlds qualification for the first time since 2016 after a 1-2 loss to GIANTX in a do-or-die series. Head coach Fabian « GrabbZ » Lohmann described the elimination as a « gigantic failure » and « embarrassment, » refusing to identify any positive aspects worth salvaging. The organization had already attempted roster changes, swapping mid laner Humanoid for Poby, but failed to reverse the trend. CEO Sam Mathews acknowledged that 2026 was the hardest year in Fnatic’s history and promised sweeping changes across the board.
