Buckhout, who is challenging Democratic Representative Don Davis in North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, had purchased less than 1,000 dollars in contracts related to her own candidacy. She agreed to pay a penalty of 2,589.96 dollars, which exceeds her original wager. This sanction is part of a series of measures taken by Kalshi to eliminate insider trading on its platform.
