Grok Bot transforms coding tasks as a16z investor calls it a ChatGPT moment

Gavin Baker from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) compared xAI’s Grok Bot to the original ChatGPT launch in late 2022. The platform completes development tasks in 7 to 12 seconds that previously took hours with Anthropic’s Claude Code, while producing what he describes as better quality outputs. Grok Bot runs on dedicated cloud virtual machines and supports up to 8 sub-agents working simultaneously, with tasks persisting even when the user shuts down their computer. xAI has priced its model between $1 and $2 per million input tokens to attract developers in multi-agent workflows. On the SWE-Bench benchmark, certain Claude Code variants still score higher, but Grok Bot’s edge lies in everyday automation tasks rather than the hardest edge cases.
