Hong Kong has selected 36 generative AI use cases as part of the GenAI Sandbox++ program. The city’s four financial regulators chose these projects from nearly 100 proposals submitted by banks, insurers, asset managers and their technology partners. The program involves 30 financial institutions and 27 technology partners, with technical trials set to begin in late 2026 at the Cyberport Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre. The selected cases focus primarily on risk management, fraud detection and customer experience, with applications such as automated insurance claims processing and streamlined customer onboarding. Participants include HSBC Life, Hang Seng Bank, as well as technology giants Google and IBM.
