San Francisco-based blockchain firm Ripple is continuing to ramp up issuance of its dollar-pegged RLUSD stablecoin, with tens of millions of tokens minted across the XRP Ledger and Ethereum in recent days. The stablecoin has crossed the $2 billion market cap threshold, currently standing at approximately $2.35 billion in total supply, split between Ethereum ($1.31 billion, or 56%) and the XRP Ledger ($1.04 billion, or 44%). Recent operations include 20 million RLUSD minted on Ethereum on August 28, 15 million on August 29, and 11 million on August 31, along with simultaneous token burns. The growth of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger is particularly significant for payments, decentralized exchanges, and lending protocols, as stablecoin liquidity is closely tied to these use cases.
