Bitcoin : 12 Years Later He Recovers His Wallet and Becomes a Millionaire

A British man named Chris has recovered dozens of bitcoins locked since 2014 on the Intersango platform, with an initial investment of approximately 1,750 euros now worth nearly 4 million euros. His journey began in 2011 when Chris, advised by a friend, invested in Bitcoin at around 3.40 euros per unit on this pioneering UK platform, which was not regulated by the FCA. After Intersango went offline in early 2014 and years of silence, two co-founders reached out to former clients in 2018, but Chris initially dismissed the messages as a scam. Eventually in 2026, with the help of law firm CEL Solicitors, which proved ownership of the funds and negotiated through US courts, the bitcoins were returned. The legal proceedings also revealed that one of the co-founders still holds approximately 5,500 BTC, worth around 585 million euros, potentially belonging to former British clients of the platform.
