Polygon Labs has issued an urgent upgrade notice for Polygon PoS nodes following the activation of the Austin and Kyoto hardforks in August. Bor nodes running versions earlier than v2.10.0 and Heimdall nodes earlier than v0.11.0 have fallen out of canonical consensus and must upgrade immediately. The Austin hardfork fixed resource-exhaustion vulnerabilities tied to state-sync gas and oversized TxDependency extra-data fields. The Kyoto hardfork hardened Heimdall against deeply nested google.protobuf.Any messages, fee-coin list scans, and several checkpoint edge cases.
