Aptos activated Circle’s CCTP V2 on August 26, cutting USDC transfer times from minutes to seconds. The integration connects Aptos to roughly nine other blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana, through more than 90 capital-efficient transfer routes. The burn-and-mint mechanism eliminates wrapped tokens, delivering native USDC issued directly by Circle. The new programmable hooks feature enables developers to automate on-chain actions such as lending deposits or asset swaps triggered by incoming transfers. The upgrade replaces lzUSDC, a bridged version routed through LayerZero, with native USDC that Circle now supports directly on the network.
