Iran says it sold 90 million barrels of oil under interim US deal

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced the sale of approximately 90 million barrels of crude oil under the interim deal with the United States signed in June 2026. Iran generated $18 billion in oil revenues, including $11.5 billion during the conflict period and $6.5 billion during the extended ceasefire. Over 40 million barrels were exported at a 20% premium in under 12 days following the blockade lift, with China remaining the primary destination. The sanctions waivers also enabled the release of $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets held in Qatar, bringing the total financial injection to $24 billion.
