Huang responded the following day, stating that AI would be a net creator of jobs, citing the historical precedent of transformative technologies. The Nvidia CEO clarified that he is not opposed to taxation in general, but believes that taxing the technology itself would hamper innovation. Gates had previously floated the robot tax idea in 2017, proposals that were largely rejected by most economists.
