During the 2024-2025 fiscal year, 240 British investors declared capital gains exceeding one million pounds sterling from cryptocurrencies, representing a total of 717 million pounds sterling. In total, 17,600 individuals reported gains on crypto-assets for a cumulative amount of 1.38 billion pounds sterling, with a total disposal proceeds of 13.8 billion pounds sterling. Approximately 87 % of declarants were men and 13 % were women. These figures were published by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the British tax authority. In 2026, the price of Bitcoin has dropped by 36.8 % from its all-time high, which should reduce the number of crypto-millionnaires for the current fiscal year.
