Circle is ending its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol version 1 (CCTP V1) for USDC transfers. Burn limits will begin declining on October 31 before a full pause of the legacy contracts on December 1, giving developers 95 days to migrate to version 2. The new version uses different contract addresses, interfaces and APIs, requiring code changes. Aptos, Noble and Sui currently remain V1-only. Since its launch, CCTP has processed over $110 billion across 5.3 million transfers. Users will retain access to their funds and pending redemptions will remain available during the transition.
