The fund peaked at $159.70 per share on February 16, 2021 and has lost 46% of its value since that date, while the S&P 500 gained 65%. Morningstar ranked ARK Investments as the worst fund family for shareholder value destruction over the decade through 2023, with estimated losses of $14.3 billion. In 2022 alone, the fund fell 67%, and over the past five years, it has declined 28% versus a 72% rally for the S&P 500.
