Mastercard has joined the 36-hour XRP Ledger Hackathon taking place in New York on October 24-25 as a sponsor. The event will bring developers together to build projects on the XRP Ledger ahead of Ripple’s Swell conference. Mastercard has gradually strengthened its relationship with Ripple over the past year, including a partnership around the RLUSD stablecoin and support for regulated stablecoin settlements. The company also participated in a pilot using the XRP Ledger to complete a cross-border redemption of Ondo’s tokenized money market fund.
