A Bitcoin balance can be displayed in two equivalent ways: BTC or sats. Bitcoin is divisible into 100 million satoshis, so 0.0001 BTC equals exactly 10,000 sats. To compare a balance with a payment or stake, all amounts must first be converted to the same unit. A local-currency estimate changes with the exchange rate, while the BTC-to-sats conversion is permanently fixed by definition. The practical approach is to identify the unit, convert all figures to one denomination, and use the fiat estimate only as a reference for scale.
