Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs identified $16.8 million flowing through 30 cryptocurrency addresses tied to members of Iran’s Mabna Institute. These addresses, designated by the US Treasury as part of a wider action against Iran, belong to four of the 17 defendants named in a DOJ indictment. Keyvan Fayaz controlled 10 of these addresses and received $15.7 million alone, representing 92% of the total on-chain volume. The combined residual balance across all 30 addresses stands at $202,662, roughly 1% of what passed through them. Simultaneously, the Treasury designated nearly 60 Iran-linked targets and launched an economic onslaught aimed at severing all financial connections sustaining the Iranian regime.
