Korean bank taps Ripple for payments, Pakistan opens crypto licensing: Asia Express

A group of South Korean lawmakers filed a bill to expand the Financial Intelligence Unit’s authority to investigate unregistered crypto businesses. In Japan, Nomura’s subsidiary Laser Digital obtained the country’s first crypto exchange license in four years. In Pakistan, the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority officially opened its licensing portal for crypto exchanges and virtual asset service providers. In Malaysia, Bitdeer AI signed a five-year deal with an undisclosed AI customer covering approximately 50% of its A102 Malaysia facility capacity for around $400 million in total revenue. In Singapore, the Monetary Authority announced tax exemptions for fund managers and family offices.
